Take 12 minutes and watch this film, it’s well worth it. Just give it your full attention.

Here’s a short made for the OIA Rendezvous which took place in Portland this year. It was put together by some old friends from Pollinate Media, Splash and Flying Horse. The video was made to showcase some key outdoor businesses in Portland and why those chose to set up shop here. My pup Easy E has a cameo at 2:44.

Sally and I were taking washingtons like we were born in vegas during the cross vegas race at interbike. Just doing what we do best I suppose. Look for it around 2:50.
It’s been a long battle, but I finally got my Easy E back. Thanks so much for my lovely sister Marley, and parents Ric and Kristi for taking him in for a while. He slept the whole way from Seattle and barely even recognized me. He’s hanging just fine with our other dog at the house Seppi. I sure miss having him home and can’t believe how big his freaking head is.What a meat head, that’s actually my new nick name for him.

I may not be good with numbers but I can’t even remember how many times I’ve been to Pickathon. This year I got invited to shoot the event and with Erin being in Croatia for our 3 year anniversary I figured it would be a good way to occupy my time. It turned out to be much more fun than I imagined. If you’re bored out of your noggin check out more of my shots on flickr.

Wow, sorry kids, I have not been updating my blog at all. So my bad. I guess that’s because it’s summer and everything is busy. Seems like i don’t unpack my bags from the weekend until I need to pack them again on Friday for the next. When Erin came home to the states for a week I had to “work” that weekend. Good news for us is my job was to photograph this amazing bike ride we put on. So, Erin and I ran around with cameras and shot every angle we could think of. The event is a combo of riding a metric century with some amazing food. Here’s a few shots to give you an idea. See the rest on Chris King’s flickr page. I’m still blown away that I get paid to do work like this now. Just create beautiful things everyday for the most respected cycling company their is.

I’ve been working with Steve Stratton of Stratton Guitars on a few projects lately. First was some photography and now we’re doing some video sessions of musicians playing his beautiful instruments. We’ll be releasing new ones as touring musicians come to town. Check out our first ones below.
Check out this amazing video series from the Pickathon live and breathe pumphouse recordings. God damn, I love this family. Can’t wait for this years festival.

FROM STEEL: The Making of a Soulcraft from michael evans on Vimeo.
Filmmaker Michael John Evans sets out to visually portray “the zone” which one enters when their craft is honed.
Sean Walling, owner of Soulcraft, builds top notch custom steel bicycle frames. This short film documents Sean’s fabrication methods: a well choreographed dance of experience and muscle memory producing a seemingly effortless ode to process.
From Steel: invites the viewer into Sean’s machine shop for an up close and personal look at the work that results in yet another awesome Soulcraft.
